Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is an American television reporter, commentator anchor and commentator for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language and culture from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career in the field of radio and television reporter in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She was then a reporter for the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV, (then WTOP), in Washington DC. She was promoted to Washington general correspondent to NBC News two years later. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office by 1988. She was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign reporter in 1994 for NBC News in 1994. Mitchell is a regular as a guest on TV news show Meet the Press as a host and panelist. Mitchell was a part of the panel during 1988 presidential debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contributions to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell reported on in the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 in the two years that Ronald Reagan served as president. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news issues, such as the arm control, the budget tax as well as the Iran Contra scandal. She also traveled to numerous summits in the company of the President Reagan along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
